 In March 2001 the ->asian dub foundation composed and performed a live soundtrack to the French film 'La Haine' (1h35m - 1995 - director: ->Mathieu Kassovitz, analysis ->here and ->here) as part of the 'Only Connect' series at the London Barbican venue. The event met with critical acclaim and enabled the band to showcase their instrumental skills, so often overshadowed by the so-called 'political' aspects of their work. Director Mathieu Kassovitz attended the performance and later told the press: 'I'm impressed. I would love to include this soundtrack to the DVD which should be released somewhere in the next 2 years'. And his wish will come true as ADF will travel to Brussels tomorrow (September 27th 2003) to record the soundtrack in front of a live audience. It will be in the Main Hall of the "Ancienne Belgique", also called the ->AB. And guess what... I'll be there. This will surely be a great show mixing the sound of one of my favorite band with the pictures of one of the most interesting french movie in the nineties.  UK newspapers reports today that English health officials have emailed junior schools instructing them on ->how children should eat carrots: “Wash the carrots, eat them from the bottom and discard the top.” And you, ->how do you eat a carrot?. [ have to sign in to post ]. I tend to peel them, wash them, cut the tops off and then, starting from the light end down to the fat one, chewing a lot before I swallow. I like really eating carrots, particularly the noise they produce once you chew them...

 Also, let me really clear about our Linux strategy. We don't have one. We don't at all. We do not believe that Linux plays a role on the server. Period. If you want to buy it, we will sell it to you, but we believe that Solaris is a better alternative, that is safer, more robust, higher quality and dramatically less expensive in purchase price.

 Don't know about you but it seems it is a hard time for blogging. The list of active blogs in my bookmarks is shrinking quickly:

• Carl Beeth's ->Exercing Dyslexia is on hold since July 5th. Being a friend of Carl, I know he is working on a new layout of his blog. But in the meantime...
• Update of Xavier Defrang's ->conscious sinking are less and less frequent. Last update is dated from september the 6th.
• ->fuck weblog consisted of a list of links, one per line, often funny, even sarcastic. It was also a great source for feeding Yabon. They disappeared all suddenly, leaving only a laconic message.
• ->King nothing (fr), another friend of mine's blog did not really started...
• Acording to ->Xeni Jardin, co-editor of the weblog ->BoingBoing, ->Susannah Breslin has taken down ->Reverse Cowgirl's Blog. Apparently, her blog was hacked. As a freelance journalist, she has written for Salon, Details, and Nerve, and she has appeared on "Politically Incorrect," CNN, and NPR. Susannah was one of the panelist of the blogging nombrilistic event called ->Blogosphere: Live from the Blogosphere [...] in which renowned bloggers and technologists will explore the online phenomenon of weblogs and their impact on American popular culture.

And I did not add any valuable blog in my bookmarks since a long time. Maybe the blog fashion is fading away little by little. Only the strong survives... :-).

 Regarding my recent post about the Ecological Footprint, here is a comment that ->Carl sent to me:

[...] Otherwise it's a good idea but not that well done. focuses way too much on food when in my opinion energy is a much bigger issue. For example no question on airco or heating etc. Besides I did the test both EU and US and got similar results but I know for a fact that US food portions are much bigger.

While I rather agree with him, I can't stop thinking this is a good idea in order, for example, to sensitize people.

 On Tuesday 1st September 1998, the nascent Mozilla community woke up to find a new kind of Mozilla site had been launched. A site devoted soley to Mozilla news and advocacy. A site where developers, testers and interested users alike could come to find out about the latest happenings in the world of Mozilla.

This site was called ->MozillaZine. They have prepared a special ->fifth anniversary section for you to browse over with interesting stuff like the MozillaZin timeline and a trivia... MozillaZine is one of my daily reading, full of amazing stuff. Happy birthday to the team and have long live!
