My full name is Erlingur Nokkvi Eliasson but I am just called Nokkvi Eliasson. I am 34 year old amateur photographer living in Reykjavík, Iceland. I Began my photographer career about 15 years ago, concentrating mostly on black and white images. For the past decade I have dedicated myself to photographing deserted farms and other abandoned buildings. My work has appeared widely on book jackets, in programmes, and in newspapers.

->Deserted farms in black and white is a very nice photographic work done by Nokkvi Eliasson. There is something strange to comes out of the pictures as you try to imagine that people have been living there. It also gives the impression that Iceland is very unique place on Earth.

 The clock now stands at one minute to midnight for the world's four great ape species, the United Nations says. In a ->clarion call for great apes, UN is launching an appeal for $25m, the minimum it says is needed to avert their extinction within a few decades. All the apes - gorillas, chimpanzees, bonobos (pygmy chimps), and orang-utans - face a very high risk of extinction within 50 years at most, the UN says. This is scary. I don't know what I can do, but we can't let them go. At least, I've used my blog to tell everybody they need our help...

 ->Vivendi Universal recently sold the ->MP3.com domain to -> CNET. That in and of itself is a yawner. MP3.com doesn't really fit the Vivendi profit model, so it's understandable that they're dumping it. Why this matters is they're not selling the archive, containing more than a million songs by 250,000 artists. As of December 3rd, they're destroying it. Read more at ->kuro5hin.org.
